Warning: This has very little to do with sports, save for a well-timed reference or two and a simile.
It's hap-hap-happy day for this Wizbang Sports editor! I've been banned from Wizbang Blue by Lee "The Liberal Lip" Ward and his Big Bad Blue Button of Hypocritical Intolerance.
Here's the instant replay that tipped the scales (after some right-leaning folks, including myself, laid wood to Hooson's 10 Reasons Why The Anointed One Should be Prez article):
Lee said: Looks like a cage broke over at the idiot circus, and a few escaped.
My response: You should know, ringmaster.
In the annoying words of Stuart Scott at ESPN, "BOO-YEAH! I'm banned!"
It's not an elite club, but hey, membership is membership!
Best of all, no longer will I be driven by my dark, masochistic desire to read the tripe written over there and attempt to respond logically, only to incur a Hercuelian-like migraine in the process. No sir, I've been banned faster than Michael Vick from the Westminster Dog Show. And I couldn't be happier!
I want to rest assure every one of the 3 or 4 Wizbang Sports readers that we welcome your dissent to our opinions. You're free to question us any time! Of course, if you want to be a dick about it, you can do that too. Just remember, though, you will get it back in spades. But you will never be banned!
Mostly because I don't know how. So there's that....

Blue is a complete joke and a waste of time, anyway. No surprise it was Lee who banned you, either. He's irrational and so full of venom for any who disagree with him it's ridiculous. He's the reason I stopped visiting Blue to begin with. It'd be nice to get some rationality in a liberal blog site, but Blue isn't the place to get it. I once heard a TV critic say that you could make a pretty decent TV network if all you aired were shows that ABC had either canceled or passed on. In a similar vein, if you got together all the people Lee Ward has banned, you'd probably have a hell of a great party.
Oh, and I recommend you NOT ban him from here. Once he figures out that he doesn't have the option of simply declaring himself the winner of all arguments and silencing the opposition.
If I was a fraction as thin-skinned as he was, Kevin would have fired my ass years ago. And with good reason.

People disagree on Wizbang Blue all the time. It's only when they turn into trolls that they get banned.
Just ask Jay Tea - he was banned. He came back for more trolling -- actually commenting under multiple fake names - hiding behind different identities -- totally breaking Wizbang's commenting policy.
That's right -- this guy....
Jay Tea

Was over on Wizbang Blue trolling, hiding under fake names. Lol... banned!
All you have to do is read the comment threads at Wizbang and you'll see the same names as above -- doing the same thing.... name-calling and cussing, but avoiding the issue at hand, and avoiding any form of real debate at all costs.
Wizbang comment threads used to have 50-60 -- sometimes a hundred comments. Now the same troll patrol -- Peter, marc, Blogical etc., rule over comment threads on Wizbang that are nothing more than echo chambers lined with their grade-school humor.... shouting down anone who disagrees, and it's patrolled by an egotistical ass who is so full of himself it spills over into everything he does. Jay created this little trolldom, and he ran a good blog right into the ground.
The kind of childish behavior you see above isn't tolerated at Wizabang Blue...and the trolls don't like it all. So periodically one shows up and does their best to get banned, hurling insults and avoiding the subject at hand, and I'm happy to oblige.
Who's next?

Lee's absolutely right on one point. I did come back to Blue, using sock puppets.
What he didn't tell you was that I did it on an article lauding Glenn Greenwald, infamous sock puppeteer, using the very same pseudonyms Greenwald used and in such a way as to make it flagrantly obvious that it was sock puppetry.
Lee was banned from the main page because he couldn't limit himself to the topics at hand, and insisted on carrying out personal attacks and vendettas against the authors. Every single discussion involving him ended up the same -- him calling people "liars," "lying liars," "filthy liars," and so on and so on.
The mutual banning -- me from Blue and Lee from the main page -- was Kevin's solution, and it still didn't stop Lee from libeling me once so badly I probably should have contacted a lawyer instead of Kevin, who removed the grossly offending comment.
That incident is the sole reason I still keep an eye on Blue -- it's purely self-defense. I know I can't trust him to not defame me that way again.
But as I said, don't be a Lee and ban him. Let him stick around for a while. He eventually makes the case for his dismissal flagrantly obvious.
Oh, I do want to make one more correction to my original comment. Lee doesn't "defend Democrats." He's purely an offensive creature (pun intended). All through the primaries he attacked Obama relentlessly, and now that Obama's the nominee he's going his trademarked spittle-spewing batshit crazy on McCain.
Please, keep this precaution in mind. If you insist on dealing with Lee, make sure you have all your shots up to date. God only knows what you could catch.

Another Olympian effort at mental gymnastics to distort reality. You lose again, Lee; reality bites for you.
For the incalculable time, Lee looks in the mirror, describes what he sees, then projects his behavior onto other people...in addition to displaying his fondness for the words "lie" and "liar" almost every single time he comments or prints an article.

J.,
Here's the funny thing: He was surprisingly thoughtful enough to ask me if he could reprint the response I sent to him after he banned me. I considered given him the green light, just let him make a further jackass of himself.
Then I thought about how dumb that would be.
If the man can't stick to his own established rules ("The kind of childish behavior you see above isn't tolerated at Wizabang Blue"....unless it's the editor himself, then it's hunky dorey), I have no reason to trust that what I said would be represented in proper context. Given that possibility, coupled with the fact that I couldn't respond or defend myself after being banned, well, that just sealed the deal on me not responding at all.
Anyhow, like I said, I don't know how to ban somebody. Even if I did, I don't want to give him that satisfaction.
Oh, and thanks for the recommendation on getting shots. (I'm still undergoing delousing treatments from my previous visits to Blue.)

Hysterical.
Lee, we aren't referring to one of the faux arguments between you, Paul, and Steve when you all can't decide if Republicans are responsible for 95%, 98%, or 100% of all the ills in the world as "disagreement".
In the real world, people have opposing opinions .... that's complete opposite opinions for you ... and no one calls them "trolls" simply for disagreeing and bans them from commenting.
For the record, I didn't even disagree with you and got banned.
After reading his explanation of the situation, he apparently made no effort whatsoever to hide precisely what he was doing.
I would describe it as "civil disobedience" in the face of state (of WizbangBlue) oppression. Sort of like all those protestors who are going to see the inside of Denver's "Guantanemo" during the DNC convention.
Of course, had you had the cajones to meet his original disagreement face to face, he could have made his objections under his regular name.
I do occasionally read the comment threads at Wizbang Blue. I am not proud of it, but do so for the same reason that people often go to Demolition Derbies. The crashes are inevitable. I recall one day when you threatened 3 different individuals with banning if they didn't respond in the manner you demanded.
What I don't do is read the articles anymore(since I got banned) that prompt the comments. Why bother reading what I can't respond to? Virtually every blogger on the Internet does so in order to get their message heard by someone else. Wizbang Blue is the only place I have ever visited that goes out of its way to make sure as few people as possible hear their messge.
Oh, and for the record, when I got banned, I neither used a swear word or called anyone a name. In response to a post saying that McCain should be judged by the people in his campaign, I asked if Wizbang Blue would be consistent and do the same with Obama. My comment was deleted. I got banned (and deleted again) for asking if you were serious for deleting my original comment.
No name calling. No cussing. My two comments were the first I had even attempted in months.
My definition of "troll" is someone who posts 15 paragraphs of porn links in a thread on Obama's economic policies. Can you give us a definiton of yours?
I can't speak to how many comments Wizbang may have gotten before. (Well, because I have a real life.) I do find your description amusing, however, because it does describe you in my opinion.
No one here at Wizbang handed me my own page ... where discussion of women's issues, education, and, of course, Stargate could be discussed at length. If they had, I sure as hell wouldn't have banned people for daring to suggest that Ben Browder's Cameron Mitchell was not a substitute for Jack O'Neill, but a complex character in his own right.
I know that I personally welcomed an opportunity to hear a liberal viewpoint and I have seen dozens at Wizbang make similiar statements. Many people will not vote for Obama for a single issue, but it doesn't make them lock-step conservatives. They are willing to listen and DISCUSS issues at odds with their views, but it doesn't mean they are going to swallow an argument without question - which, apparently is the requirement to post at Wizbang Blue. You have squandered a great opportunity.
Buy a sense of humor, Lee.
Apparently that behavior IS tolerated at Wizbang Blue. Were I Paul or Steve, I would have done everything possible to get rid of you long ago.
