The Legend of Tiger's U.S. Open Victory Grows

The 2 breaks in his leg.

The destroyed ACL.

We all know about Tiger Woods' medical issues during this year's unforgettable and legendary U.S. Open victory.

But this just adds to it. From Tiger during an ESPN interview:

Unbeknownst to those outside of his inner circle, Woods could barely walk in the days leading up to the tournament. His first 18-hole round walking was the first round of the U.S. Open. He had barely practiced and winced in pain often throughout the tournament.

Let's repeat that: He could barely walk until the first round of the US Open, the most difficult golf tournament in the world. Torrey Pines measured 7,600 yards at the time--close to or a little more than 4 miles. He walked it all. And won.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the most courageous, most endearing, most likable, most competitive and the most driven athlete we've ever seen.

The best part? We get witness it all.

I can not wait for his return.

Alan Orfi:

Oh good grief. You swing any harder from his balls and you'll tear them right off. Tiger Woods will go down as one of the greatest golfers of his time, but let's not get carried away. He does not dominate the tour like the media portrays. There will be others down the pike who will be just as good or even better.
