Poor Steve Bartman. The past just won't let the guy be.
And neither will the media.
Months after saying he wouldn't have caught the ball that Bartman allegedly interfered with during the 2003 NLCS, Moises Alou denies ever telling Sport Illustrated reporter Jim Litke that he wouldn't have caught the ball and now claims he told Litke that "just to make Bartman feel better."
How thoughtful. But why are we reporting on this nearly 5 years after the fact?
Pardon me, but for fuck's sake, MSM, let it go already. Bartman didn't lose that game or series, the Cubs players did. Period. Yeah, they would've been out of the inning, but they wouldn't have been there in the first place had the Cubs pitchers done their fucking jobs.
Bartman's life is ruined as far as being a fan goes. To this day, according to people who know him, the diehard Cubs fan hasn't been to a Cubs game since that fateful October night for fear over his safety. Over a damn baseball game. Ridiculous!
Yet our media feels utterly compelled to keep burying Bartman deeper and deeper with meaningless bullshit stories like this. And Bartman doesn't have a single recourse against it.
Maybe the next time a reporter asks Alou about Bartman, Alou should just pee on the reporter instead of his own hands.
