Junior Reaches 600 HR Mark

Cincinnati Reds' outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. slammed his 600th career home run in the first inning tonight against the Florida Marlins' Mark Hendrickson.

Junior becomes just the 6th player to reach 600-homer mark, joining Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays and Sammy Sosa.

Man, so many at bats lost to countless injuries over the years. What a shame. Junior would more than likely be the current home-run king if not for those injuries. Then again, Junior has never exactly been known for his conditioning regime.

The Reds will be shopping Junior around MLB, oh, say by the end of the 5th inning of tonight's game.

Dear God, I hope the Mariners aren't in the running. Stupidly, they probably are.

A lot of Junior's injuries ... (Below threshold)
Tim:

A lot of Junior's injuries don't stem from his conditioning, but from his style of play. You can only run into the wall making a catch so many times before it starts to hurt.
