Marlins Ink SS Hanley Ramirez to Big Deal

Did hell just freeze over?

Did I just see a pig fly past my window?

Some thing's going on because I'm seriously dumbfounded.

The Grinch-like Florida Marlins have actually committed serious dollars to one of their star players and one baseball's most thrilling young talents, shortstop Hanley Ramirez.
Six years, $70 million big ones.

So who put Ecstasy in owner Jeffery Loria's drink? Or maybe he's feeling euphoric over the Marlins current owning of the best record in baseball at 23-14.

Whatever the case, this signing sure signals a sign of different times in Miami.

At least until the Marlins can no longer afford Hanley and decide ship him to the Red Sox and Yankees for prospects.
