Common Sense (Finally!) In The Clemens Case

I don't believe what I'm reading. Rep. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) believes the government has gone too far in its case against Roger Clemens, asking outloud "what is the public benefit of continuing with an FBI investigation?"

None, Mr. Weiner.

"The real incentive to clean up this mess is not a governmental one," said Weiner.

The amount of common sense coming from this man is staggering. And oh-so welcome!

Too bad nobody will likely listen to you.

But thanks for not being a weiner like the rest of your colleagues. Mr. Weiner.

I'm afraid that Rep. Weiner isn't doing this because he thinks it's inappropriate for the govt. to be involved. He's a Democrat. His problem is that his constituents are heavily Yankee fans. If this was a Red Sox player on the hot seat, Rep. Weiner would be happy to let the govt. take down the player.

With all due respect even a Democrat isn't so retarded as to think that somehow stopping an unnecessary investigation will somehow help his standings in the polls. And he also represents Met fans, too, so it really has nothing to do with who he's a fan of and who he's not.
