Dwight Howard's Awesome "Superman" Dunk

A couple of weeks ago, I bemoaned how there were few likable characters in the NBA. Then I caught highlights of the NBA All-Star Game's Slam Dunk Contest. I now wish to amend that by adding Dwight Howard's name to the list.

His Superman dunk during the contest was a thing of beauty, humor, showmanship and sheer physical prowess and athleticism rolled into the most jaw-dropping slam dunk since Michael Jordan. Or even Spud Webb.

To think a 6'10" man can catch a ball mid-air and get his body near parallel to the court floor and slam the ball in from what seems like 3 feet from the basket itself is amazing.

Just wow.

And he did it with a big old "I'm just having fun" smile on his face.

Way to go Dwight Howard. The NBA needs more players like you!

I saw it. Not impresssed. Not a clean dunk, almost bricked it from one inch away.

A costume does not make for a top notch dunk.

For experienced (aged) slamfans, Dr. J's left handed helicopter dunk (ABA era, so not available online) is the ultimate uber zensunni performance.
