The USC Train Wreck Gains Speed

The rumors and innuendo around whether or not former USC running back and Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush was complicit in taking money from sports agents while he was still an "amateur" are starting to gain significant momentum.

Here are the documents that seriously implicate Reggie Bush and his father.

It would be very difficult for Bush to explain these away.

What are the implications? Well, they may or may not be terribly significant depending on your view.

Reggie Bush: Reggie would lose his Heisman Trophy and maybe take a small hit in endorsements. He probably doesn't care about the trophy since it already accomplished what he wanted. The endorsement hit will be small if at all. Reggie stands to walk in this with little or no damage.

Pete Carroll: Pete had nothing apparent to do with this skullduggery but he will take a bigger hit than Reggie anyway. The NCAA could take away the 2006 National Championship, Pac-10 Championship and more importantly a whole bunch of scholarships. USC will throw Pete under the bus in a second. Other than maybe six schools across the country, every other coach would jump at the job. Toss Pete, get a new coach, problem solved.

USC: This is a real challenge for their Public Relations department. The University will take some serious heat for a dumb ass and his dumb ass family but the damage can be controlled. We'll see how they handle it. Note to USC: Defending this idiot would be a very bad idea.

Vince Young: The big winner. Vince would get the Heisman as the runner up. This would vindicate the position of many that think had the voting been done after the National Championship game Young would have won it running away.

Stay tuned folks, this is just getting started.
