Quoting myself:
To me, this pick boils down to one thing: Which QB do I have more confidence in to make a play when it needs to be made? The answer to that is Jeff Garcia [over Eli Manning], by a lot. I take Tampa 24-20.
Eli Manning, I shall never doubt your powers again.
Yes, Eli put the "Man" in "Manning today, going 20/27 for 185 yards, 2 TDs and, most importantly, 0 INTs in leading the Giants to a 24-14 playoff win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And Jeff Garcia, the guy I said I'd rather have "by a lot?" 23/39, 207 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs. Take that, me.
Bucs Limp Down Home-Stretch and Out of Playoffs
The Buccaneers won a really weak division, and not exactly running away. Their lameness persisted into the post-season, and much of the blame rests with Jeff Garcia, who missed a lot of time late in the year, and didn't exactly light things up when he was in there. Not that Jon Gruden had a lot of options - Luke McCown was only 1-2 himself this year (which won't stop Bucs fans from saying he should've played in place of Garcia).
