That whooshing sound you heard earlier was most of NFL fandom collectively inhaling in preparation for a gigantic scream of rage at not being able to see Saturday's potentially historic game between the Giants and 15-0 Patriots. Thankfully, cooler heads have prevailed, and now the game will not only be seen on NFL Network (which is only carried at loud sports bars full of front-runners and your Aunt Gina's house where the cats piss freely and the TV has been stuck on PBS since 1977 making you wonder why your Aunt Gina even has a dish), but also on normal TV, specifically NBC and CBS.
The official news stories say this is the first three-network simulcast in NFL history, and the first even two-network one since Super Bowl I which was also on the Eye and the Peacock. Unfortunately, since this is a simulcast, we will not have the option of which announcing team to enjoy, but will be stuck with the regular NFL Network duo: pontificating ass-munch Bryant Gumbel and bland Cris Collinsworth. I will have the volume down on my own TV and some nice music turned up, maybe Arcade Fire or Gogol Bordello.

I was already getting it via DirecTV having NFLN, but it's really too bad it's a simulcast. Maybe I can bring the Sirius radio in from the car for a play-by-play...

The simulcast is bummin me out; I was hoping to avoid Gumble's weak announcing.
But look at it this way, now 3 broadcast companies will have the opportunity to hear Gumble and hopefully this will insure that he never does sports play-by-play again!
