Favre Breaks Pass Yards Record

Brett Favre has again knocked Dan Marino from the record books, breaking the former Dolphin's NFL-best career mark of 61,361 passing yards. Earlier this year Favre broke Marino's career passing TD mark by notching his 421st against the Vikings.

If Favre were to somehow win his second career championship this year - and such a thing is not out-of-the-question - then, given all the career records he now holds, he would have to be regarded as at least the second-best QB of all-time behind Joe Montana (Favre would have only half as many titles as Montana, but he would have the same number as John Elway, a man often mentioned as the number 2 all-time guy behind Joe). Then, were Favre to come out and have another brilliant season next year, and maybe make another Super Bowl and even win one, I think the discussion would be over - Favre would have to be hailed as the greatest ever to play quarterback in the history of the NFL.

Pending Tom Brady's inevitable ascendancy to that lofty perch, of course.
