All has been peaceful and harmonious in Giants-land this year - at least since they shook off their early malaise. But that peace was shattered today when the 4-6, Adrian Peterson-less Minnesota Vikings went into the Meadowlands and hung a 41-17 beatdown on Tom Coughlin's club.
Blame for the loss will mostly be directed at Eli Manning who, with his less slack-jawed big brother Peyton watching from the booth, threw 4 interceptions, 3 of which were run back for TDs. By the end of the game, the few remaining Giants fans were cheering Manning being sacked. And they booed him when he was sent back onto the field after the 4th pick.
It's the second time in Eli's life that he's been picked off four times by the Vikings. And by the way, the Vikings have the lowest-ranked pass defense in the NFL, and were without their best cornerback Antoine Winfield.
Giants fans will now get that familiar sinking feeling back - the one they experienced last year when their 6-2 club went in the tank and ended up 8-8. I can't wait until Mr. Loyalty Tiki Barber starts ripping into Eli and Coughlin.
