Ricky's Back With Dolphins

Cam Cameron had that meeting with his players over the issue of Ricky Williams returning to the team, and the players told Cameron they're okay with it. So, starting Monday, Ricky will once again be a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Ricky, who was recently reinstated after an 18-month drug suspension, reportedly met with Cameron himself today, a meeting Cameron described as "positive." Afterward Ricky got a chance to speak to the media, something I'm sure he was thrilled about.

When asked what his motivation was for returning Ricky said:

My motivation is to get my life going again. Being out of football in the situation I was in makes it difficult, you know? I want to create a better life for myself and for my family, and being a football player, for me, is a big part of that.

He discovered that there's no money in being a lazy pothead, in other words. Plus he still owes the Dolphins about a gazillion dollars, doesn't he? I'm sure this move will turn around Miami's season. What better tonic could there be for an 0-9 team than a 30-year-old running back who doesn't give a rip?

John Daly and Ricky William... (Below threshold)

John Daly and Ricky Williams are fighting for the title of wasting the most talent of any athlete in the 21st century. I'd put Maurice Clarett in that list but he never played a down in the pros.
