Here we go, my picks for week 11. Remember, these are for entertainment purposes only. Gambling is bad for you, especially if you lose.
Carolina at Green Bay. Vinny Testaverde is starting for the Panthers and Steve Smith is out. The Packers look to have discovered a running game with Ryan Grant. Packers win this one easily.
Oakland at Minnesota. Daunte Culpepper returns to the scene of the Love Boat scandal. JaMarcus Russell may see a few snaps. Adrian Peterson is a no-go for the Vikes but they still pull this one out (it will be ugly though).
San Diego at Jacksonville. David Garrard should be back for the Jags. Shawne Merriman is banged up for the Chargers and so is Quentin Jammer. Trying to guess which Chargers team will show is like attempting to anticipate which position Hillary Clinton will take on an issue from day-to-day. I'm guessing it won't matter for this game - Jags win regardless.
Arizona at Cincinnati. Kurt Warner's still going to play despite his elbow being in bad shape. Chad Johnson missed practice today but is listed as probable. It's too late for the Bengals to really turn their season around but hopefully they have some pride to fight for. Cincy wins at home.
Kansas City at Indianapolis. The Colts are all beat up: Freeney's gone for the year, Harrison will probably miss another game, Bob Sanders may have to sit out. Kansas City has its own issues with Larry Johnson maybe done for the year. I have to believe Indy has enough to beat the Chiefs and end their skid. It's a gut-check game for them though.
New Orleans at Houston. It's the Reggie Bush v. Mario Williams Bowl. Does anyone still care about that? The Saints looked back until last week. Matt Schaub may still be punchy after a concussion. Saints squeak one out.
New York Giants at Detroit. Two teams that still have us wondering are they for real? Both are coming off losses. Plaxico Burress has missed practice all week but will play. Kevin Jones may sit for Detroit. Giants get a big road win while Lions are left reeling after second straight defeat.
Cleveland at Baltimore. The Browns got brought to earth somewhat last week. The Ravens have injuries all over their defense including Samari Rolle who's out, Chris McAlister who's questionable and Ed Reed who's probable. Plus the Ravens' QB situation is a mess, with Kyle Boller taking over for Steve McNair this week. The Browns get a win on the road.
Miami at Philadelphia. Brian Westbrook may not play, which is a problem for Philly since he's just about their whole offense. Of course these are the Dolphins they're playing so it won't matter. Dolphins fail to get off the mat, drop to 0-10.
Tampa Bay at Atlanta. The Falcons will likely go back to Leftwich at QB. I can't think of a dang thing to say about Tampa even though they're in first place at 5-4. The once-dreadful Falcons have managed to get it to 3-6 and actually still have a shot. Tampa wins though.
Pittsburgh at New York Jets. Mangenius became Manclueless pretty quick didn't he? Now the wunderkind is Mike Tomlin who has the Steelers grinding toward the playoffs. Pittsburgh should have no trouble in this one.
Chicago at Seattle. The Bears have gone back to Rex Grossman. The Seahawks will be without Shaun Alexander for the remainder of the season. Hard to get inspired by either of these teams. I'll just take Seattle at home.
Washington at Dallas. The last time the Redskins faced a high-powered offense they got trounced by New England. That happens again this week in Dallas.
St. Louis at San Francisco. Your official dog game of the week. I'll take St. Louis only because they seem to have turned their stuff around while the Niners continue sinking. Plus San Fran has Dilfer starting again and Frank Gore is all beat up.
New England at Buffalo. The Bills are surprisingly not bad. They nearly pulled an upset against the Cowboys earlier, and now they're at home against the Patriots. And the Pats are coming off a bye-week and may be rusty. Ha...like that matters. Pats roll, big-time.
Tennessee at Denver. At some point, the Titans are going to need to get real quarterback play out of Vince Young. The Broncos may not have Travis Henry and won't have Javon Walker. Another dullsville game for Monday night. Denver wins it.
