Pats Down Colts, Stay Undefeated

The New England Patriots eked by the Indianapolis Colts today, 24-20, to stay undefeated and gained control of home-field advantage in the playoffs.

As expected, this was a battle. Though while not terribly entertaining for the average fan, the game delivered on its promise and lived up to the hype.

The Colts were unable to capitalize on Pats turnovers, leaving the door open for Pats' QB Tom Brady to engineer a frighteningly quick 3-play, 51-yard drive with 3:51 left in the 4th quarter to go ahead and stay ahead, 24-20.

Minus the great Marvin Harrison, Colts' QB Peyton Manning struggled to find his other targets, WR Reggie Wayne and TE Dallas Clark throughout the game. However, RB Joseph Addai was the Colts workhorse and go-to man, gaining 113 yards rushing and 114 yards receiving, scoring on a spectacular 73-yard check-down pass just before the half.

Three out of their next 4 games are against Philadelphia, Baltimore and Pittsburgh will greatly test them, each with respectable if not stellar defensive units will test Brady & Co.

Can the Pats finish the regular season undefeated? Well, the alumni of the 1972 undefeated Dolphins have got to be a little worried at this point.

The Pats are good. Sick good.
