...Or merely a passing of the torch?
This is being billed as a classic battle of quarterbacks; more accurately a battle of experience versus youth. This will be interesting to watch but the game will likely not be about Favre and Romo.
The Packers are dead last in the NFC in rushing with 82 yards per game. The Cowboys are posting 123 yards and in fact the number 2, 3, 4 and 5 rushing teams in the NFC are the teams in the NFC East.
Why is this important when the Packers are 10-1? Because not only are the Cowboys better than anyone else in the NFC East, they are better at the things that frustrate Favre. The Packers' closest wins this season came in three point decisions against Washington and Philly.
Against the rest of the league, Favre's QB rating is well above 100. Against the NFC East it is 71.2. His completion percentage is also its lowest against the NFC East at 60% with only three touchdowns and four interceptions.
The bottom line is that against teams that feature a strong defense and smash nosed running, the Packers struggle. Against one-dimensional offenses like Green Bay's, the Cowboys flourish.
A good defense and a one man offense rarely works. Ask John Elway the first few times.
Snowman is going to kill me for this.
I love Brett Favre but.......Cowboys by 10.

So, are you saying Dallas will cover the 7.5 points being given to GB atthe moment?

Yes. And possibly more. The point I'm making is that this isn't a battle of Favre versus Romo. Favre is clearly the best. But Dallas is clearly the best team and Romo will glean the title of "next best thing" from it.

I'm curious to see how well the Packers play when the weather dictates they have to run the ball.
I wouldn't be too surprised if the Raiders or the Lions surprised the Packers in Lambeau Field later this year.

Excellent point. Favre is a master but he is clearly dependent on the pass and a solid defense. Oakland and Detroit at home in December may tell the tale.
