Yeah, you read that right. Chalk this up as the Insane Fan Comment of the Day:
the Dolphins can make the playoffs.
Maybe this is just post-13 1/2 point-underdog-vs. Chicago-on the road giddiness. But, I checked the standings today. The Dolphins (formerly the D-phins: no OL) are only 3 games out of the second wild card spot with 8 to play. If this was baseball, no one would be questioning that they have a chance. The 'phins also play against both teams currently tied for the #2 Wild Card slot - the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs. So, a 9 game win streak to end the year would put them in prime position for playoff tiebreaker in the head-to-head category.
Miami won 6 games in a row to end last season. Could they win 9 this year? It's possible. The win against Chicago may just give them the confidence they need.
Of course, following my logic that a 2 and 6 team is only 3 games out of the playoffs, Pittsburgh, Houston, Cleveland, Tennessee, and Oakland (2-5 pending Monday night's result) could also make the playoffs. In fact, no team (including 1-7 Arizona) has been eliminated from the playoffs...yet.
Anyone want to bet me that one of those teams can't win 7 or 8 of their last games and make the playoffs? Anyone want to bet that Jacksonville or KC will be better than 5-3 during the last half of the season?
Someone is going on a streak to end the year. This Insane Fan believes it'll be the Dolphins (I have to). Imagine a (flex-schedule) Sunday Night game between the 9-6 Dolphins and the 15-0 Colts in week 17. It could happen.
Can anyone think of a more improbable scenario than that? I guarantee it would be the highest rated game of all time.
Here's hoping.

Mathematically, yes, they have a chance. But let's remember who's at the helm: Joey Harrington.
I wouldn't count on it.

I think that the Dolphins Can make it. They can feel it now. It's all in the blood now. It's in the air. I can feel it too. The Superbowl is in Miami. They know it. I can't wait to see them fry the next Turkey in line.

Titans are the greatest team in the league, and no one can stop me. 4 straight wins, and in sight of the playoffs, we cannot be stopped. I will make sure to get us there, no matter what.
