Here comes a "pity interview"

Texans GM Charlie Casserly, reviled by many Houston Texans fans, will be stepping down. To pursue a post in the NFL's front office.

I guarantee he gets a "pity interview". What's that? Well, let's say Boss A and Person B are friends. Person B asks Boss A to review the resume of Person C, an unemployed friend of Person B but completely unknown to Boss A. Boss A brings Person C in for an interview regardless of Person C's qualifications -- which are often not up to the job at hand that Boss A is hiring for -- and then drops Person C's resume in the "no" file. Boss A has therefore fulfilled his/her friendship obligation to Person B.

Anyone crazy enough to give Casserly a job in the NFL's front office probably will be facing some pity interviews of their own soon after.
