Johnny Damon to the Yankees

Johnny Damon has jumped ship to the New York Yankees. That's right, you heard me right folks, Damon has put the Boston Red Sox and his possible legacy as a Bo Sox center fielder behind him for the greener pastures of the New York Yankees and their $52 Million Dollar 4-year contract. And my boy Sage is so outraged, he dusted off his blog for another swipe at the Yankees.

From ESPN.com:

Yankees' executives had said all along that they would not go crazy to sign Johnny Damon. They would talk about three or four years, nothing more.

But as Boston maintained its stance of a four-year offer, the contract term asked for by Boras gradually came within range of the Yankees. Boras indicated Damon would talk about four years.

So once again, the black hole that is the Yankees collection of superstars sucks up another player who had the opportunity to be a legend by himself with one great team. Giambi was the same way - he could have been THE MAN in Oakland, but he was sucked into the pinstripes. And now Damon. And don't forget Johnny, you better shave off the Jesus beard buddy, the Boss doesn't like his boys looking scruffy. If all is right in the universe, they will lose the division to the Devil Rays this next year, just for being evil.
