My picks are in Italics
Vikings vs Redskins
Yes, I know that the Vikings NEEEEEEEED to win this game just to hang onto a wildcard spot in the playoffs. Irrelevant.
They can’t perform vs the ‘Skins D.
Vs Jacksonville they managed 16 pts.
Vs Philly they managed 16 pts.
And that’s it. That’s the total of all the tough Ds they’ve played this year.
Expect 16 pts or fewer vs Washington.
Washington put up 31 pts a few weeks ago vs the Giants. The Vikings D is worse.
Panthers vs Saints
The Panthers are another team that never quits, and look where it’s gotten them: the verge of a playoff berth.
The Saints are a team that’ll quit in an eye-blink, compounding that with a lousy coaching staff. Look where it’s gotten them. Another year getting to watch the playoffs on their big screen tv’s, pizza and eating wings, drinking soda and beer . . . hey, maybe they do this crap intentionally!
I expect a big ugly butt-whoopin’ to be laid on New Orleans and my fingers are crossed that it’ll be the last straw in the firing of Jim Hasslet and his worthless crew.
Rams vs NJ Jets
Any other week and I’d have to give this to the Jets, but even if they lost and the Bills, Broncos and Ravens won, the Jets still have the better Conference record, so I’m not sure how important this game is to them. Herm Edwards also seems too much like Shanahan to me (no killer instinct, not an especially effective motivator).
On the other hand, the Rams need the win and some help and Mike Martz is a naturally aggressive coach.
