That's what we heard from Gunther Cunningham, Dick Vermeil, media talking heads and witless KC fans.
But what does Gunther say after his mighty KC defense, playing his "more aggressive SCHEME", gets their heads handed to them in Denver, losing by a whopping ten points in a game they came into favored by 3? A lovely 13 pt turn around.
"It's not all about the scheme. It's about the guys, motivating them and keeping them alive to play another day."
See, he let them lose on purpose, because losing motivates them. He was also trying to save them to play another day.
F***ing brilliant. Gunther should maybe think about going into psychology after he leaves the NFL.
Keep saving your defense to play another day, Gunther. Pretty soon you'll be saving them for next year and you can spend another off season telling us how your SCHEME is going to make an untalented group of guys play like NFL studs. Then, when they get destroyed you can tell us how you're just motivating them and saving them for another day.
Way to backpeddle, Gunther.
