– Green Bay came out running almost exclusively. While they were eventually forced to punt on their first possession the Panther’s seemed unconcerned about stopping them at first.
Carolina’s defense put on no rush early in the opening series. Their play was listless, allowing Ahman Green to have his way. It took a couple Green Bay first downs to help Carolina figure out that this was for real and they better wake up.
– Green was usually patient and showed good vision, but he wore down over the course of the his 32 carries. He ended the half with a 4.2 yd per carry average. He ended the game with a 3.6 yd average.
