Broncos vs Jaguars

This is a partial post. For the full analysis go here

This game had to be a study in frustration for Broncos and Jaguars alike.

Two Denver passes of nearly 30 yds were called back because of holding penalties. Rod Smith muffed a return for the second week in a row. Quentin Griffin and Jake Plummer botched the most critical handoff of the game and gave the ball back to Jacksonville with just 31 ticks left on the game clock and within easy FG range with the wind at K Jason Elam’s back.

The Jags were constantly one play away from losing the game. One big play, one successful FG, and they lose. They couldn’t stop Denver except when Denver gave them help.

In the end, Denver did just enough to give the W to Jacksonville, turning the weaker team’s frustration into exaltation.
