The story of Mike Tyson is short and bitter. He started out like a whirlwind knocking out everyone he faced in the ring. A simple fighter with black trunks, a sweatshirt cut to drape over his shoulders and the most devastating knockouts boxing has ever seen. Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World was his title. Then along came a black widow and stripped him of his manhood. Robin Givens altered Mike’s spirit. Buster Douglas knocked Mike into another humiliation. The rape conviction took what dignity Mike had left. Don King stripped away what material gain Mike had in the world.

Mike Tyson was left with a tattooed face and body. A reflection of his confusion could be seen in his choice of Einstein and Mao Tse Tung tattoos.

Last night he climbed into the square circle with the intention to have several fights to raise money to pay off his debts. But just like the previous chapters in his life story Mike Tyson was knocked out in the 4th round by Danny Williams. He claims he suffered an injury early in the fight. Mike Tyson’s injury occurred a long time ago.

Mike Tyson injured himself by firing his trainer Kevin Rooney. After Cus D’Amato died Kevin Rooney promised he would look after Mike. Kevin guarded Mike all the way to the championship of the world. Along came Robin Givens and Kevin tried to stop Mike from marrying her. Mike could hear Don King in his ear saying, “You have a White man telling you the Champ what to do”. Mike had to control something in his life. He trained hours and hours with Cus who was white. The mansion was far from the inner city life Mike grew up in. Mike could now be a man. He could show Kevin Rooney what he was made of. Kevin Rooney agonized as Mike left. The promise of looking after Mike that he made with Cus was now broken forever.

Mike Tyson was brainwashed by Don King. Just like all boxers who need money and fights Don King could get you both. He would pay a fighter in material goods and have them sign their life away. Mike thought he controlled his destiny. But little did he know that Don King owned him. 300 million dollars later Mike Tyson now realizes that Don King was not his brother and color had nothing to do with it. He was taken to the cleaners by the best con man in the game.

Mike Tyson can’t win a fight unless he uses what Cus taught him long ago. The method is one that doesn’t allow a fighter to control the offense. The trainer sees the opening and calls number combinations that automatically the fighter through training reacts by throwing the corresponding punches. For instance the number 7 is a jab. So the corner would say 7, Mike more 7’s. Tyson would respond by throwing the jabs repeatedly. That’s why none of the other trainers could prepare Mike for a fight. Mike was programmed for 7 or 8 years in this system. Since he has been away from the system so long Mike can’t seem to create his own offense and defense. He is as lost in life as he is in the ring.
