Olympic Basketball

The United States is about to lose to Puerto Rico in their first game of the Olympics (55-36 PR with 4:30 left in the 3rd).

The reason: no outside shooters. Though I have only been watching the game a little bit at a time, everytime I turn around somebody is missing a WIDE OPEN three pointer. Puerto Rico isn't even trying to guard the outside shot, they know the Americans can't make it. Doug Collins just said that the best three point shooter (percentage wise) on the US team is Richard Jefferson, who finished 47th in the NBA last year in three point percentage. 47th!!! One player on the US team was in the top 50 of three point percentage in the NBA last year.

Not a way to build an international team. Not a way at all. As Bill Simmons has been saying - - where the hell is Michael Redd? How was this guy not asked to be on the team?
