What possessed Chargers RB Ladainian Tomlinson to sign an extended contract with the team? They have no commitment to winning. Just as was the case with Tampa, there will be no turn around until after ownership changes. It seems that while LT got himself a nice payday (and he deserved it), that he's also bought himself a career full of misery.

Yeah, SD could slap the franchise tag on LT. But LT, being one of the NFL's premier players, has plenty of leverage of his own.
Maybe he could get them to work a trade with the NJ Giants for Eli Manning and a high draft pick.
