Day 9
– When WR Ashley Lelie is in (he returned from his bruised back and hip, today), he tears things up. The problem is, he did the same thing last year, even through preseason games.
It wasn’t until into the regular season that he fell apart for a few weeks. I have trouble maintaining confidence in him until I see him getting it done when it counts.
– It wasn’t just Lelie today, though. The entire offense seemed to step up, especially the receiving corps. Good news, but will things continue in this direction? Or will the D come back to dominate for the majority of camp, as they did for most of the first week or so?
– The reports from today painted a picture of a lot more give and take between the two units. As if they played on about equal footing for most of the day. Is that reason for excitement? Does it point to an O that is stronger than some believed it might be? Or does it mean the D isn’t playing as hard as it has in past days?
