Yes, another Yankee!!

Sean Casey, a firstbaseman goes down, and is replaced by a catcher. Baseball makes Jason Kendall, a catcher, one of the five people eligible to be voted in using the Ameriquest All-Star Final Vote. Jason Kendall is not the catcher used to replace Sean Casey though. Instead, it is Paul Lo Duca, who didn't make the team based on initial fan voting, did not make the reserve team based on coach and player voting, and was not even part of the secondary fan voting.

I am not saying that Paul Lo Duca doesn't deserve to be an All-Star. And, I am not saying that Jason Kendall is better than Paul Lo Duca. But, guys, seriously, can we have a little bit of consistency please? If you think Kendall is one of the top 5 "snubs" based on the first two rounds of voting, why would you give someone else, not in the top 5, a spot that becomes available? Just doesn't make that much sense.

Oh, and in the American League, yeah, add another Yankee. That is what we need, 8 Yankees on the All-Star team. I think Vasquez has been good this year (9-5, 3.50 ERA, 86K/27BB), but why not put another White Sox player on the team after Konerko and Thomas got snubbed (Freddy Garcia: 5-8, 3.42 ERA, 98K/34BB)? Why not put the Cy Young winner from last year on the team (Roy Halladay: 7-5, 3.83 ERA, 82K/32BB)? Why not put a 3 time Cy Young winner, who had one of the greatest All-Star game performances ever, on the team (Pedro Martinez: 9-3, 3.67 ERA, 112K/31BB)?

The fact that this will be Vasquez's first trip to the mid-season classic helps matters, but do the fans really want to see another Yankee?
