At the heart of the scandal was Keating's Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which took advantage of deregulation in the 1980s to make risky investments with its depositors' money. McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating with federal regulators tasked with preventing banking fraud, and championed legislation to delay regulation of the savings and loan industry -- actions that allowed Keating to continue his fraud at an incredible cost to taxpayers.

Shaq will not be a Laker, that we can almost count on. I think NY is in the running, Dallas, and maybe even Denver has an outside shot. LA knows that few teams will have little to give in return in terms of players. Your Finley-Walker option is the best I can think of. So there may be some creative work done with draft picks and contract restructuring to make it work.
My "what goes around comes around" trade would be Shaq to Philly for AI and make AI and Kobe start an on the court / off the court battle for touches, shots and limelight. No matter how much Iverson and Bryant deserve it, I would never wish that trade on The Big Diesel.

personally i think they should tradd with NJ. NJ should resign K-mart. The Lakers should take K-mart and jefferson since we have no power forward most likely cause of karl and his injury. You play K-mart then when he gets tired you play jefferson. K-mart doesnt need the ball like a T mac or a ray allen. This would be a way better trade than what Miami has to offer. This also would work out good because even if the nets move to brooklin it would be close to NJ Shaq's home town. by the way this came from a 13 year old.
