Only 2 more games left until the Lakers go on vacation. This isn't what the Lakers planned on happening with the addition of Karl Malone and Gary Payton. Neither one of the two acquired have done much to help the Lakers from going down in defeat. Is there any hope left?
The Lakers have not been dominated by the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers dominate themselves and become like Houdini and disappear offensively during stretches of the game but especially late in the 4th quarter. Remember not long ago the Lakers dominated the 4th quarter.
The Lakers anemic offense coupled with the Spurs knocking down crucial shots late have to change in order for the Lakers to climb back in the series. Can the Lakers even the series at 2-2 and make it to a game 5 in San Antonio? The question isn't about stopping Tony Parker. The question is can they match the Spurs basket for basket. When the Spurs are cold can the Lakers take advantage of them and increase a lead. If the Lakers should lose on Sunday, well you know ...the refrigerator is closing, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter is getting hard, and the jello is jiggling.

I think Karl has pretty much been what they wanted and expected. Payton, however, has been a huge disappointment, especially in the playoffs. I'm guessing either Shaq or Kobe will be gone next year. They just don't seem to be able to share the spotlight.
