A quick update on who the Bills have been talking to (or not talking to).
Free agents lost - Antoine Winfield, CB (Min); Danion Sidney, CB (Det). The fact Winfield is gone is not a surprise, but the value of his contract (six years, $36 million, $10.8 million bonus) is. Sidney was not in the Bills plans.
Free agents signed - Chris Villarrial, OG (Chi). Will likely start at guard for the Bills next year.
Free agent visitors - Troy Vincent, CB (Phi). He is weighing a modest offer from the Bills and a better one from the Bengals. Mark Bruener, TE (Pit). The Bills may need a tight end after releasing Dave Moore, but likely not at Bruener's price. Patrick Pass, FB (NE). I never even heard of this guy...didn't they at least mention him during the Super Bowl pregame? David Macklin, CB (Ind). Currently a back up in Indy, he would likely be one here. Terelle Smith, FB (NO).
What do all these visits mean? To me, it says the Bills are going to be very quiet players in free agency this year and see if any bargains pop up during the summer. Rumored visitors include QB Billy Volek from Tennessee and and Darrell Jackson, the wide receiver from Seattle. With the amount of interest league wide surrounding both those players expect the Bills to drop out of the bidding and continue to look for value.
