This deal doesn't make much... (Below threshold)1. Posted by Tom | March 16, 2004 10:11 PM | Score: 0 (0 votes cast)
This deal doesn't make much sense to me, since the NFL's case was very strong. The 49ers and Ravens had both played by the rules and were in no way responsible for the screw up that lead to T.O.'s loss of FA status and his trade.
I'm even more surprised that a hardass like Billick caved in to T.O's pissing and moaning. It isn't like Owens is known as a slacker, so even if he's not happy, it's reasonable to expect that he'd have practiced and played just as hard as he's already respected for around the league.
What did the Ravens have to lose in holding on to T.O. or in letting the arbitrator rule? Seems like they gave up needlessly and lost a lot more than they'll gain by caving in.

How many times do we have to lose in the NFC Championship game before our organization makes some moves to bring this city a title. I love the Eagles, but they are going to be the death of me. Aside from possibly the Phillies, the Eagles are our best shot of winning a championship.
