Disgusting!!! That basically sums up the incident and the NHL. Is it surprising when a league that glorifies their goons has something like this happen?

If I punch you in the face out in the street, that's battery. Why should it be any different when some cry baby mama's boy attacks someone during a hockey game? Battery is battery and should be treated as such.

It's appalling, that's what it is. I don't care what happened in previous games, it's a game and there is no need to attack someone for something that happened almost a month ago. There is no need for that kind of violence to happen in a hockey game. That was a sucker punch. Moore never even saw it coming. I'm not a big Colorado fan, no, but i'm still disappointed at what has happened. Bertuzzi needs to pay for what he has done. For these players hockey is their livelihood, and Bertuzzi is one of the goons of hockey that has briefly taken that away from one player. Bertuzzi isn't setting a good example for the young hockey fans that watch these games and idolize these players.

I think that it's not that big of a deal, Bertuzzi in no way intended to break the guys neck. Moore now knows the lesson not to go after the other teams #1 player. I think the league should just suck it up and keep playing.

look, the game got out of hand (the score was 9-2). Its the whole nhl that should be blamed. first off, brad may put a price on steve moores head without anyone saying anything, then both coaches should have known better then to put both players on the ice at the same time in a blowout game, i mean even if it wasn't an extremely cheap sucker punch from behind (which is exactly what it was) they both should have realized that somebody was trying to injure him. and just for the record, bertuzzi never meant to break moores neck. did u guys see him crying in the press conferences??? thats not just acting there, he was really really sorry and was simply frustrated and not thinking straight at the time. But in any case, what happened happened and there should definately be strict punishments for his behaviour.

That "crying" was completely fake. The only thing he's sorry about is that he may face jail time. He DID mean to cause serious injury. He not only sucker punched Moore and drove the guy head first into the ice, but then attempted to beat him some more and was only stopped when Moore's teammates came to the rescue.
This guy is scum. Hockey has been given a free ride for too long. Hockey and hockey fans have promoted and gloried in the bunch of tantrum throwing crybaby thugs that parade as players and a man could have died because of it.
Hockey is for lowlifes. It's the sport of white trash. That goes for players and fans.

Back in the day. If someone went after gretzky (also number 1 scorer at the time like naslund) He would have been murdered. We need enforcers like bertuzzi in the game today.
It was cheap, but if you look at all the happenings, i would have punched him too, you don't go plowing into Naslund when he is down on one knee. For all of you that didn't see that hit, go take a look at that before you criticize Bertuzzi.
P.S. Moore - Starting drinking your milk pal

Its a game!!!! Its a game where millions are on the line if you win or lose and you have to protect your star players otherwise Gretzky, Naslund and other star players are going to be beat on and trampled to WIN. All is fair in love and war and these guys love to go to war to win. I am sure he did not know he broke his neck. Its not like Karate Kid when they say "Sweep The Leg". I am sure he did not say "Break his little neck". It was an accident. Remember this is millions ans millions of dollars. What would you do for millions?

I believe that Bertuzzi's actions were intentional. Threats had been made prior to the game. Bertuzzi should not have been allowed to play in the game. Since he was played, the NHL was justified in fining Vancouver. I think the only thing Bertuzzi was crying about was the fact that he was going to lose a lot of money and possibly face jail time. I think the NHL should crack down harder on blatant attacks.

its stupid that they suspended him for the playoffs and so forth. its not like he intetionally broke moores neck, i mean other ppl were on top of him also when he hit the ice. apprently the impact from the fall broke his neck cause when he fell he landed on it wrong. so why should todd bertuzzi be punished for an accident!!!
