Reuben Drougns Re-signed

The Denver Broncos report that FB Reuben Droughns has been re-signed.

This signing is important, and one I was worried about, because while Droughns' blocking is slightly beneath that of Mike Anderson, he's younger, more versatile and has much better hands.

Droughns is also sometimes spoken of as a RB, rather than a FB, and may be considered as a possible replacement for Clinton Portis. I doubt this will be the case, partly because of his value as a FB and partly because his pure ball running skills didn't seem especially strong last year when he had a few chances.

If Mike Anderson retires or otherwise leaves the Broncos, I expect that Droughns -- rather than TE Patrick Hape, who has helped out at FB in the past -- will take over the starting FB duties full time.
