Panthers Eat Owls in NIT

Ed McCants ripped off six-straight points to start the second half, and the UW-Milwaukee Panthers never looked back beating the Rice Owls 91-63 in the first round of the NIT. UWM was led by Dylan Page's 22 points on 8-14 shooting and Ed McCants' 21 points including 4-7 from three point range. This was the school's first post-season victory. Last year, they narrowly lost in the NCAA tournament to Notre Dame. At the end of the game, Panthers fans were chanting, "We want Marquette!" If UWM wins against the winner of the Boise State-UNLV game they will play the Golden Eagles for city bragging rights.
