Manning Now Highest Paid Player

Well, the Colts did as promised and got Peyton Manning to sign on the dotted line. The seven year, $98 million contract is the largest in NFL history. Peyton is worth every penny and the Colts have set themselves up to be successful for many years to come. It's the first time I've known Jim Irsay to get a deal like this done and I'm proud of him for doing it,

Irsay came through on his promise of giving Manning the largest signing bonus and largest annual average salary in league history. Manning will earn more than $45 million in the first three years of the contract. The deal averages $14 million annually over seven years. The total package includes $19 million in roster bonuses in the third and fourth years of the deal.
