The Chargers have traded David Boston to Miami for a 6th round pick in 2005 and a player to be named later pending Boston passing a physical.
The Chargers have now got rid of their only legitimate, but troublesome receiver. Rodney Harrison the best defensive player 2 years ago was cut last season and now is sporting a Super Bowl ring. While shedding high salary players of Boston, TE Stephen Alexander and DE Marcellus Wiley the notable offseason moves include the re-signing of Doug Flutie until he's 85, Tim Dwight - a guy with heart and a lot of injuries and 4 unproven players... is it just me or is the Spanos family and GM A.J. Smith deliberately trying to make the Chargers into the worst team possible! There seems to be no vision or direction this offseason and you add the narrow offensive minded Schottenheimer and I expect the Chargers to not a win a game next season. I think best chance the Chargers will have is if LaDainian Tomlinson will take the field by himself...but I'm sure the A.J. Smith has plans to trade him to Oakland for a 3rd round pick in 2006...
Can this offseason be more painful to bear for Charger fans than the dismal season the Chargers just posted...we haven't even gotten to the draft yet and the Chargers on the clock.

The Chargers are another team that seems too much like the Bears and, formerly, the Bucs. They've stunck or wallowed in mediocrity for so long that one can only point to ownership as the problem. Don't expect anything to change for the better until you see a change in ownership.

Another John Butler mistake (along with Wiley) that the Chargers have to dig out from under. John Butler may have been a nice guy, but he screwed both the Bills and the Chargers with bad and expensive moves.
