Releases and A Re-sign

Sorry I haven't been around. Not only did the Giants' 4-12 season leave a bad taste in my mouth that even now still requires industrial strength mouthwash, I managed to lock myself out of my account here. Kevin was a good guy and reset me.

I want to say up front I don't like Tom *Cough*lin. He is a disciplinarian and the G-men need that badly but deep down, I don't think he was the right choice. His speech at his first Giants' press conference was truly vomitous with all its swagger and gung-ho and promises. I nearly puked listening to it online.

Suffice it to say, I don't see a Lombardi trophy in this team's near future.

Tom:

The Giants seem too much like the Bears to me. They're problems aren't their coach. Fassel did a better job than could reasonably be expected and did it over several years, considering the help he was given by the front office.

No coach or player will fix the Giants' problems until the real problem is fixed, and that likely means a change in ownership.

If you don't see that (or at least a change in ownership's philosophy), don't expect the rest of the team to miraculously become regular contendors.
