Hawaii and USC remain on a collision course in the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament. News can be found here and a current set of brackets here.
Really the only surprise in the Final Four is Minnesota who is the equivalent of their region's #4 seed (the NCAA only seeds the top 16 teams in the tournament of 64, Minnesota was the #13 seed). Florida, the tournament #3 joins Hawii and USC as a regional top seed advancing to the Final Four.
And, while I'm relishing a Hawaii - USC rematch, I can't help but remember another recent year when Florida ended the Rainbow Wahine's tournament run earlier than expected. The top three seemed to be on a mission as they advanced convincingly through the field - Florida has not lost a game yet, while Hawaii and USC have each dropped only one game.
Now the serious Volleyball begins! The semi-finals will be delayed broadcast on ESPN2 at 11:00pm Thursday night (USC vs. Minnesota) and 3:00pm Friday (Hawaii vs. Florida), and the championship is on live at 3:30pm, Saturday. Tune in - the games are fast-paced and exciting and this sport is still pure.
