Interesting write-up of this event at cbs.sportline.com, which says:
"Smith stood up, raised an arm in the air and was mobbed by teammates, walking off the field and waving to the crowd, which booed"
I didn't see the play, but I wonder if the clueless reporter must have mistaken the sound of "Bruuuuce" from the crowd with boos.

Pretty darn sad, really. Smith should have retired a couple years ago. He just kept hanging on and stupid Snyder let him, well beyond any usefulness to the team or the league. He's just a brokendown old man, desperate for one last taste of glory. Great, he got it. Now let's see him walk his sorry butt off into the sunset, never to return.
