Sabres Update

The Sabres went 2-2 over the long holiday weekend, winning at home against Washington, losing in Nashville, and splitting a home and away series with Florida.

The recent four game stretch perfectly illustrates exactly what the Sabres are right now; an average team with good growth potential.

Miro Satan is currently in a funk after losing the "C" for the month of November. He did score twice in the Washington game, but disappeared again the next game.

The rotating captains "C" currently resides on the sweater of Chris Drury, but could be given to another player for December. Hopefully Ruff will scrap this rediculous idea, give the "C" to Drury, and rotate the assistant roles between worthy players.

Word is, center Tim Connolly may be out for the rest of the year. Not to wish anything bad on anyone, but that works out well for the Sabres. Theyare pleased with the play of fourth line center Chris Taylor (and his minimum salary) and have no roster spot for Connolly. In addition, insurance will pick up most of the Tin Man's $1.2 million salary.

Why can't one of these goalies step up and go on a run so the Sabres can trade him?

It's hard to believe, but even with all the problems the Bills are having I can't quite get fully into hockey yet.
