Redskins Coaching Search

WaPo reports that,

Three former NFL head coaches -- Dennis Green, Jim Fassel and Ray Rhodes -- are at the top of the Washington Redskins' wish list to replace Steve Spurrier and become the fifth head coach of the team in the last five years under owner Daniel Snyder, sources said yesterday.

Green, who coached the Minnesota Vikings for 10 years through the 2001 season, and Fassel, fired by the New York Giants two weeks ago after seven years, are considered among the top candidates to replace Dave McGinnis as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. Green said he will interview with the Cardinals today, and Fassel, an Arizona offensive coordinator in 1996, reportedly will interview with the team over the weekend.
