Neuheisel to coach Cardinals?

The latest rumor, most likely started by the Arizona Republic's feature today profiling the future candidates for a possible head coaching vacancy with the Cardinals, has the Bidwell family taking a long look at Rick Neuheisel.

The fired Washington head coach, let go before the start of this year's college football season in a betting scandal, has ties to the Valley, as he attended a Tempe's McClintock High School, and was interviewed by the San Francisco 49ers just last season.

The Republic article also outlined other possible candidates such as recently fired Giants Head coach Jim Fassel, Eagles Off. Coordinator Brad Childress and 49ers Def. coordinator Jim Mora Jr.

But it's the Neuheisel connection today has chat boards and talk radio abuzz today in the Phoenix area.

At least Arizona is not lik... (Below threshold)

At least Arizona is not like the two other great football programs Neuheisal lied to and then systematically destroyed. Not much damage for him to do there.

I don't get the appeal. This guy is a loser. I was at the University of Washington when Neuheisal led the Dawgs to the Rose Bowl on the recruiting efforts of Jim Lambright. He is like a dead beat dad: you want him to be good so much that it hurts until eventually you realize that you are happy he is out of your life.

Arizona should listen to the warnings of the fans in Washington State and Colorado: don't hire him if you have any hope for the future.
