Dick Vermeil on KC's Run Defense

Our run defense is very good about 33 of 35 runs. It's the one bad run that has killed us. It's the same for everybody — the one breakout run. Priest Holmes is in the top of the league in 20-yard runs or more — right up with the best. That's been our real problem: stop the run, stop the run, stop the run, then boom. Those things at this time can improve.”

Pretty much what I said yesterday, huh?

Maybe you can say Robinson is the reason they are good on the 33 run plays. Perhaps the reason we make the 33 stops is because he brings up people, which means if someone breaks one it is automatically going to be big. I don't know. I do think a better defensive coordinator could stop the run on 33 plays without giving up a huge run every single time on the 2 plays we don't stop.
