The Jazz smoke the Supersonics

The scrappy Utah Jazz did a number on the Seattle Supersonics tonight. They did everything right or Seattle did everything wrong. In any case the Jazz still have only one loss at home in 8 attempts. Believe it or not the Jazz hold a tie of fourth place in the Western Conference and are only one and a half games back of Dallas.

Matt Harpring had 24 points while new comer Raja Bell added 25 and Andrea Kirilenko added 4 block shots to give the Jazz a 17 point win. The lead was much bigger several times into the low 20's. In the fourth quarter, it wasn't "will they win" but "by how much". The Jazz pull off the win 81-98.

As a Jazz fan I am pretty surprised at how they have faired so far. Their biggest challenge? To win on the road and to beat top ranked teams. In order to make it to the playoffs they will have to beat LA, San Antonio, Sacramento and Dallas. Because they have no "super star" player right now, the team seems to be running on pure skills and passion, knowing they won't get the calls or the benefits of veteran players.
