Packers Beat Vikings

The Green Bay Packers triumphed over their dome demons by beating the first place Minnesota Vikings 30-27. The key to victory wasn't Brett Favre's broken thumb, even though he still zipped the ball around for three touchdowns. The key to victory was the Packers' effective running game, and the Vikings inability to stop Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport and Tony Fisher who all contributed to 261 yards rushing.

In that game there was a play that didn't go for a touchdown, but should be considered as a play of the year candidate. The Packers were on offense. Favre handed off the ball to Ahman Green who went to his right, but the Vikings' defense was there ready to pounce. Green moved to his left and reversed direction. Leading the the blockers was none other than Brett Favre who got a pretty good lick on a Viking defensive back. The play may have only went for about 10 yards but it illustrated the Favre's competitiveness and Green's athletic gifts.

Now, let's await the Twin Cities bloodletting.
