GOALPOSTS MOVING FOR COWBOYS

Jean-Jacques Taylor notes that, as the Cowboys keep winning, expectations keep rising:

With each game Dallas wins, the stakes get a little higher. And the competition gets a little tougher. And the dream grows just a little bit bigger.

This season is no longer just about making the playoffs. It's about winning the NFC East for the first time since 1998. And it's about winning games once the postseason begins.

That why Parcells asks his team each Monday, "Who scares you?"

Implied in the question is that Parcells believes there's no reason Dallas can't contend for the Super Bowl this season.

Tampa Bay, the defending champion, was 4-5 after losing to Carolina.

"It doesn't do us any good to be 7-2 and tied for the best record in the NFC and then go into the tank," defensive end Greg Ellis said. "We have to do something with it."

Parcells understands the opportunity the Cowboys have to accomplish something this season. That's why he's pushing them harder and demanding more each week.

"We're a work in progress," he said. "We're a long way from being good across the board. I'm happy we're in first place and Philadelphia has a tough game Monday. That's all in our favor."
