For the 11th consecutive season, the Braves have the National League's Gold Glove pitcher. It just isn't Greg Maddux.Mike Hampton won the Rawlings fielding award Wednesday, ending Maddux's near-record streak in voting by managers and coaches.
Maddux had been honored 13 consecutive seasons -- 10 with the Braves after three with the Chicago Cubs. The record for a pitcher is 16 by Jim Kaat (1962-77).
Hampton, who was 14-8 in his first season with the Braves, also won the Silver Slugger recently after hitting two homers and driving in eight runs. He is the first pitcher to win both honors in the same season.
Although Maddux's streak ended, Braves center fielder Andruw Jones won his sixth consecutive Gold Glove. He made just three errors for a .993 fielding percentage and had eight assists.
Hampton had a .985 fielding average, making one error in 68 chances. Maddux made two errors in 73 chances, a .973 percentage.

Braves pitcher John Smoltz won the Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award, named after the first executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association. The award, which Smoltz also won last year, recognizes playing ability and community service.
