Bills Update

Injuries are all the talk before this week’s game. For the Bills, they list four players as “questionable”: Travis Henry, Eric Moulds, Mike Williams and Jonas Jennings. Henry has a cracked fibula and wants to play. Gregg Williams says he feels “optimistic.” But wait! Could this be another one of Williams’ ingenious plans to confuse the opposing defense? Surely Tony Dungy will spend his nights agonizing and wondering if the team that hasn’t scored a touchdown in the last 190 minutes of football will be without their running back. It certainly left Dom Capers bewildered not knowing if Eric Moulds was playing last week.

Okay, enough sarcasm. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Henry playing. But if he was on my fantasy team, I think I would look elsewhere. Joe Burns will start and Sammy Morris will back him up if Henry is not available. Willis McGahee is just not ready yet.

Eric Moulds has had two good days of practices and will play.

Mike Williams (RT), who injured his shoulder in a car accident on his way to last week’s game should play. Jonas Jennings (LT) has a hip flexor. If he sits and Marcus Price plays the Bills won’t miss a beat. Not that the beat has been very good lately…

The Colts entire team appears to be on IR. Thus, the Colts are only three point favorites. For entertainment purposes only, I envision the Colts covering.

The Bills made a series of minor roster moves. As I suspected, they activated Mario Haggan from the practice squad. They also waived FB Philip Crosby from the IR list, resigned WR Jarel Myers to the practice squad, signed TE Rod Trafford to the practice squad, and released RB Nick Maddux from the practice squad.

Somehow, the Bills game sold out again this week. I can’t believe that there are 74,999 people as stupid as I am. The weather should be nice, though (55-60), and beef tenderloin is on the menu as a tribute to St. Elmo Steak House, where I had the pleasure of dining on my only visit to Indianapolis. Now if I can find a way to recreate their cocktail sauce for the shrimp, not to mention the navy bean soup… I think home games are becoming less about football and more about eating.

My, it certainly is difficult to keep these columns interesting as the Bills fade away. Anyone ready to talk about the draft yet?
