Don't be surprised to see Mike Stoops be the new head coach at Nebraska next season! He's another Ohio lad that's already knows their D coordinator. Solich has one foot in the grave and the other on a bannana peel. The new AD at Nebr is Pederson who is very quick to pull the trigger on lousy coaching which Solich has done the past 3 years. Stoops would take the job just to coach against Bob.. and recruit against him. He's readly to step up and the Huskers could afford to pay him. It's big time program which would be a nice step up for Mike... remember you heard it hear first!!

Reports last night that UA has made an offer to hire Mike Stoops away from the Sooners. Mike publically told KWTV 9 http://newsok.com http://oklahoman.com that if given the right offer he would leave the University of Oklahoma before the 2003 Bowl Season arrives. As a Sooner fan since birth, it would be dissapointing to see Mike go, however Sooner fans have been dissapointed before (see the 1984 "Schooner Bowl" & 1987 Orange Bowl) I think though as animated a coach as Mike is no matter where he goes that school's program will be a National title contender within 2-3 years. But, I will say this; Stoops will not stay in the Big 12. He stated that several weeks ago... once again see http://oklahoman.com ... Stoops stated that he would consider the Big 10 or PAC 10, both conferences that rarely play Big 12 schools especally Oklahoma. One thing I would absolutely love to see is Brent Venerables take over as Assistant Head Coach and Co-Defensive Coordinator for the Sooners, and Bob bring in his younger brother Mark (From Miami) as LB and Secondary coach if Mike does leave.
